Scientific Initiation Scholarships are available at CICECO Aveiro Institute of Materials - Field of study: Materials and Chemical Engineering
Open calls to award two Scientific Initiation Scholarships (BIC) for collaborative projects with the Mahatma Gandhi University, India, within the scope of CICECO – Aveiro Institute of Materials financed by national funds by FCT / MEC and where appropriate co-financed by the ERDF under the PT2020 Partnership Agreement the following conditions:

Field of study: Materials and Chemical Engineering 

Admission Requirements: Fluency in English; Academic knowledge not less than 3 years of university studies on chemistry and nanomaterials, letter of motivation and letter of recommendation. 

 Work plan: The main objective of this fellowship is to prepare and characterize polymer nanocomposites for electrical/biomedical applications

The particular objectives to be accomplished by fellow will be:

- Synthesis of polymer nanocomposites.

- Chemical, Structural, Morphological, Electrical and Biological Characterizations.

Legislation and regulations: The fellowship is in accordance with Law Nº. 40/2004, 18th August (Research Fellow Statute) and the Regulation of Scientific Research Grants from the University of Aveiro – Regulation n.º 341/2011, published in Diário da República, 2nd series, n.º 98, 20th May.

Workplace: The work will be developed on the site CICECO University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Professors Ana Senos, Paula Vilarinho e Elisabete Costa.

Duration of Activity: The scholarship will have the duration of six months, with the possibility of renewal up to 12 months, set to begin in February, 2016.

Value of monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the grant corresponds to € 385, as of awarded grants values table directly by the FCT, IP in the country (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). The purse payment frequency is monthly and through bank deposit, check or other equivalent method.

Selection Methods: The evaluation criteria of the applications will be curriculum evaluation (50%) and interview (50%). Applications should be sent by email to anamor@ua.pt. 

Selection Jury composition:-Ana Senos (President of the Jury), Elisabete Costa e Paula Vilarinho.

Form of publication / notification of results: The final evaluation results will be posted in a visible place in the complex of technological laboratories. Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail.
