iTravey intends to revolutionize the way we Schedule our vacations
Touristic platform developed by former students becomes vice world champion in startups

iTravey, a startup developed by two former students of the University of Aveiro (UA) and 5 co-workers was one of the three winners of Global Startup Battle’s Champions Circle, a worldwide startup competition. By attaining the second position, iTravey outpaced over 1000 teams which participated in the Startup Weekend; the event took place in several locations all over the world, during the Global Entrepreneurship Week and gathered over 15.000 competitors.

After winning the Startup Weekend Covilhã, iTravey entered a competition which aimed to determine the 15 startups that would be evaluated by members of Google. The Portuguese startup was then confirmed as one of the awarded projects, having its developers achieved the second place in what was a first experience for Portugal in the decisive stage of this competition, the Global Startup Battle’s Champions Circle. This competition comprised 230 teams from 135 countries.

This award granted the iTravey developers with a trip to Google’s headquarters in Silicon Valley, S. Francisco, 10.000 US dollars in a crowdfunding campaign, access to the counseling of mentors from Google and a booth at Launch conference, where the project will be displayed (http://events.launch.co/festival).
