Department of Communication and Art featured, for the second consecutive year, in Domus Magazine
UA Design amidst the 50 best degrees in Europe
DeCA entre as melhores escolas de design da Europa
The University of Aveiro’s degree in design has, for the second year in a row, been selected to feature in the restricted list of Domus Magazine as one of the 50 best degrees in Europe. The list comprising both the Licenciatura and Master Degrees in Design from the Department of Communication and Art (DeCA) was published in the last edition of the Italian magazine, one of the most important publications worldwide dedicated not only to Design but also to Architecture and Art.

The renewed presence of the UA’s Design in an edition of Domus featuring the best degrees and schools "is not only recognition of the commitment towards design made by the university nearly two decades ago but also the appreciation of the uniqueness of the training we provide." Alvaro Sousa, director of the UA Master’s in Design claims that the degree has gone “well beyond the university’s geographical area of influence, expanding and competing with the offer of big urban centers and the largest Portuguese universities, being now identified as a brand of training excellence.

Recognition, according to Alvaro Sousa, brings about, for example, students from the most varied places, both national and international- especially from Brasil, but also from Cyprus and Spain- as well as partnerships established with renowned institutions of Design, such as the Polytechnic of Milan and the university of Aalto (Finland).
