Recruitment to one researcher to collaborate in the project “Role of ER-stress associated molecules IRE1 and GADD34 on innate activation by nucleic acids"
A call is open for recruitment of one researcher to collaborate in the project “Role of ER-stress associated molecules IRE1 and GADD34 on innate activation by nucleic acids”, with the reference PTDC/IMI-IMU/3615/2014 and POCI-01-0145-FEDER-016768, funded by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia I.P. (Orçamento de Estado) and by COMPETE 2020 – Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização, (FEDER).

Research Area: Biomedical Sciences - Immunology

Candidate profile: The candidate should preferably hold a BSc in Biomedical Sciences or related areas and an MSc in the same area with a minimum average grade of 16. The candidate should also have experience in laboratory work and good knowledge of English.

The goal of the project is to define the molecular mechanisms allowing the induction and the functional activation of the innate immune response. We will focus on the crosstalk between autophagy and unfolded protein response during inflammation and autoimmunity. The role of the unfolded protein response associated molecules IRE-1a and GADD34 will be under particular scrutiny using advanced Cell, Molecular and Immunobiology techniques.
