Research Day proposes extended scientific debate about sustainability

This year’s edition of the Research Day of the University of Aveiro (UA) will have as main topic sustainability, in a wider perspective, covering subjects as Demography & Active Ageing, Climate & Environment, Research & Society, as well as Social Innovation & Design. This event of dissemination and debate of scientific work is held on 13 June, at the Rectorate building of UA, in the auditorium and in an adjacent area.

Among its 15 thousand students, the University of Aveiro (UA) has presently more than 1300 coming from 80 countries from all over the world. Do you want to be part of this international community too? What are you waiting for? The 3rd call of applications to international students will be open until 23 June, for those who want to apply to licenciaturas and integrated masters at the UA, academic year 2017/2018.

Laboratory of the University of Aveiro opens officially on 15 June, at 11h00

ECOMARE – Laboratório para a Inovação e Sustentabilidade dos Recursos Biológicos Marinhos (Innovation and Sustainability Laboratory of Marine Biological Resources) of the University of Aveiro (UA) is going to be opened by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on 15 June. This infrastructure aims at developing high-level basic and applied research, and technology transfer to enterprises, governmental organizations and national and international institutions in the field of Marine Science and Technology. Located in Gafanha da Nazaré, Ílhavo, the opening ceremony of this Laboratory will be held at 11h00. The Marine Minister, Ana Paula Vitorino, will be attending the ceremony.

European Maritime Day celebrated at the University of Aveiro

The European Maritime Day is celebrated on 20 May and the University of Aveiro (UA) is organizing a set of events with the purpose of highlighting the existing scientific competences, as well as the region’s potential, namely in what concerns the theme of Ocean Renewable Energy. The programme includes, among others, “Ocean Laboratories”, a Round Table about Ocean Renewable Energy, the Ocean and Atmosphere Days, closing with a participation in the event Business2Sea.

EU ActYouth Project

UA participates in international training within the context of EU ERASMUS + Project ActYouth

The University of Aveiro (UA) was represented by Isabel Dimas, professor at the Águeda School of Technology and Management (ESTGA) and by Eva Andrade, Senior Project Manager of UATEC, in an international training activity, within the EU ActYouth project, held at the European University Cyprus, Nicosia.
